Helpful Tips When Applying

We encourage you to read our Scholarship Guidelines before beginning the application process.

Please note the following documents are required to upload as part of the application process.

It would be beneficial to ensure you have the proper materials ready prior to starting the application.

1. Copy of 2019 1040 tax forms (pages 1 & 2) for both parents and students. The year 2019 is requested because it’s likely the tax year’s information you would have provided on the most recent FAFSA.

2. Copy of fully completed and corrected 2021-2022 Student Aid Report (SAR) (this is the summary of your 2021-2022 FAFSA).

3. Verification of your cumulative GPA must include the most recently completed spring semester. This does not need to be an official document.

These submissions need to be as one document file not multiple individual documents, images, or pdfs.

Scholarship Applications accepted May 15 – 31, 2021.

Welcome to the Online Scholarship Portal.

The Online Scholarship Portal compiles information and support materials for The Van Wert County Foundation’s system for managing online applications, scholarships, and grants. Please read the information below to set up your user account. Use the button to the left to enter the Online Scholarship Portal.

How It Works:

A scholarship applicant creates a user account in the Online Scholarship Portal and then logs on to that account to access the eligibility assessment to start a new scholarship application process. Your application can be saved as a draft, and when you log on again, it’s easy to return to that draft, make edits, and submit the application. Each account maintains a record of the application history that you can access at any time.

The Online Scholarship Portal allows applicants an easy way to see the status of a scholarship, award dates, and payment submissions.

We recommend that you carefully read the instructions and reference materials found on this page before registering and starting your first application.

Creating Your Online Account

All applicants are required to create an account. We suggest creating your account well in advance of the scholarship deadline to avoid any last-minute issues. At the time of registration, you must enter the following information:

  • A username that is an email address
  • Password
  • Your contact information
Managing Your Online Account
