Van Wert Community Mural

This public art commission was made possible by The Ohio Arts Council and the Oscar and Norma Feigert Memorial Fund through The Van Wert County Foundation, whose vision is to create a well-resourced and thriving quality of life for our community.

The mural was completed by Augusto Bordelois with assistance from area students from Crestview, Lincolnview, and Van Wert Schools.

About the Artist:

Augusto Bordelois was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1969. He immigrated to the United States in 1999. His work has been awarded much recognition in national and international shows. He owns and directs Augusto Fine Art Studio in Berea, Ohio.

Van Wert Live: Niswonger Performing Arts Center

Van Wert Live events are presented by The Van Wert Area Performing Arts Foundation at venues throughout the city. The crown jewel venue is the Niswonger Performing Arts Center of Northwest Ohio. Since 2007 the Niswonger stage has been host to hundreds of professional performers, Broadway productions, national and international speakers, dance recitals, school concerts and productions, and numerous rentals. Over 300,000 entertainment seekers from over 40 different states and Canada have attended performances, lectures, and meetings at the Niswonger. Thanks to the sustaining support of The Van Wert County Foundation, the VWAPAF seeks to create a well-resourced and thriving community by living out the vision to make Van Wert an entertainment destination.

Van Wert Live: Fountain Park

Summertime means a new Feel Good Friday line-up of Free Live Entertainment at Fountain Park in the Historic Downtown District of Van Wert. The diversely programmed concerts include nearly everything from country, rock, jazz, bluegrass, Christian, and more. Fountain Park typically is full of 1000 attendees from a tri-state region. Fridays are complete in Van Wert with friends, fellowship, and free feel-good music. Feel Good Fridays at Fountain Park are presented by Van Wert Live Events and powered by the Van Wert County Foundation. Those who know the popularity of the shows understand the value of putting up lawn chairs and blankets early in the day in anticipation of the growing crowds that savor the summertime sounds.

Van Wert Live: The Grandstand

Outdoor live entertainment makes Van Wert the place to be in the Summertime. Van Wert Live presents entertainment experiences at the 5200 seat capacity Grandstand venue located a the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.  Concert goers are putting The Grandstand on their bucket list of concert experiences as this venue provides yet another option to choose Van Wert as an Entertainment Destination. Wassenberg Art Center

The Wassenberg Art Center (WAC) is a not for profit community art center which presents an average of 10 admission-free exhibits annually. WAC offers art classes, workshops, unique events and activities for adults and children throughout the year. The Wassenberg Art Center and its mission continue today because of The Wassenberg Art Fund administered by The Van Wert County Foundation, community support, donations, and memberships.
