Process

  1. Applicants must create an account on vanwertcountyfoundation.org.
  2. All materials will be submitted via the online platform.
  3. The application deadline is May 31st of the application year.
  4. The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee will review applications and award scholarships to students.

Award

  1. A maximum of three grants will be made to students pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
  2. Recipients will be notified of their award via email in July.
  3. Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the student’s school.

Undergraduate Scholarship Program

The Undergraduate Scholarship Program is a financial support option available to Van Wert and Paulding County high school graduates and select graduates of other area schools, provided their main residency is Van Wert County. The application opens on May 15 and closes on May 31. Scholarship recipients are decided in June and notified in July. Applicants may apply for a scholarship after completing their first year of post-secondary study and must re-apply annually to determine eligibility for up to three scholarship awards.

Registration

  1. A Van Wert County Foundation representative visits each school in the spring to register graduating students.
  2. To register, click here. Complete the form and submit it. Once it has been successfully submitted, you will see a confirmation screen.
  3. The Foundation will issue an application notification using the email address provided through the registration process by May 1st each year.
 

Criteria

1. Applicants must have completed the equivalent first year of post-secondary study. A maximum of three grants will be made to students pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.

2. An applicant must be a full-time student enrolled in a minimum of 12 quarter or 12 semester hours per term.

3. All applicants must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA to be eligible for the scholarship. An applicant must have been a resident of Van Wert or Paulding Counties when they graduated from one of the following eligible High Schools:

    • Antwerp
    • Crestview
    • Delphos Jefferson (Any county residency)
    • Delphos St. Johns (Any county residency)
    • Lincolnview
    • Parkway (Only Van Wert County residents eligible)
    • Paulding Local Schools
    • Spencerville (Only Van Wert County residents eligible)
    • Vantage Career Center (Must be a graduate of one of the eligible high schools)
    • Van Wert
    • Wayne Trace

4. An applicant who receives a diploma through the General Education Development testing program is eligible for a scholarship provided they attended one of the eligible high schools. Home-schooled students are also eligible as long as residency is within the above-listed school district.
